Biography
Prior to his arrival at UCR, Dr. Nam was an NIH postdoctoral fellow in the Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering Laboratory in the College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University, where he investigated the effects of biomechanical signals on skeletal tissues/cells in health or in disease such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. For his Ph.D. study, he worked on the development of biomimetic and biodegradable polymeric scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.
Jin Nam's research interests include tissue engineering, polymeric scaffolding, and mechanobiology/mechanotransduction in stem cells and skeletal cells/tissues.
